Pokhara is an oldest trading place of Nepal. At 17th century it was a part of chaubise Rajya ruled by shah king. In 1786 Prithvi Narayan Shah made Pokhara into his kindom .when Prithvi Narayan Shah added Pokhara into his kingdom. From that time Pokhara is a important trading place of Nepal
In Pokhara at first we can found people like Brahman, chettri and Thakuri and Majhi.

In Pokhara at first we can found people like Brahman, Chettri, Thakuris and Majhi living near phewa city. Newar people from Bhatpur migrated to Pokhara and started to live
Here in 18th century. Newari people stay main business place like Tal Barahi temple , Bindbasni temple and Dhairab temple.
In Pokhara mostly we can find Gurung, Magar and Thakhas people living here. There are also few Newari communities in Pokhara. In eastern part of Pokhara a few
Muslim people are living here and people called community miya tole where Muslim communities live.
